First elected to the House of Representatives in 1976, Representative Paul is a member of the Committee on Banking, Finance, and Urban Affairs and the senior Republican member of the Subcommittee on Coinage. He has authored many essays and articles on economics, and is the author of Gold, Peace and Prosperity: The Birth of a New Currency.
He is founder and President of the Foundation for Rational Economics and Education of Lake Jackson, Texas.
Mr. Lehrman was President of the Rite Aid Drug Corporation from 1969-1977 and Chairman of its Executive Committee from 1977-1981. Presently a candidate for Governor of New York, he has published numerous articles in The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, and Harper’s, and is the editor of Money and the Coming World Order. In 1972, he founded the Lehrman Institute, a public policy research foundation in New York City.
