He notes that anarcho-capitalists are not utopians: Proponents for private defense note that if we take into account the existing dominant social attitudes toward life and human rights in a society, it can be demonstrated that the adoption of a state will not improve the situation, but instead create a greater likelihood of widespread violence and less effective defense.
