Price Controls Enforced by Death Penalty

Price Controls Enforced by Death Penalty

TomPalmer says in his comments to this post that for Murray Rothbard to have celebrated the fall of Saigon and the overthrow of the Republic of Vietnam was a “disgrace,” a “departure...from the entire philosophy of liberty with which he was so closely associated,” and a few other things too. Well, here is a news item I found in my file.

The death penalty for spreading rumours of a currency devalution? Death for hoarding? It helps reminds us just what kind of regime the US was propping up.

What is the Mises Institute?

The Mises Institute is a non-profit organization that exists to promote teaching and research in the Austrian School of economics, individual freedom, honest history, and international peace, in the tradition of Ludwig von Mises and Murray N. Rothbard.

Non-political, non-partisan, and non-PC, we advocate a radical shift in the intellectual climate, away from statism and toward a private property order. We believe that our foundational ideas are of permanent value, and oppose all efforts at compromise, sellout, and amalgamation of these ideas with fashionable political, cultural, and social doctrines inimical to their spirit.
