The Bankers’ Revolving Door

The Bankers’ Revolving Door

Former BIS head joins JP Morgan (Times Online): “The former head of the Bank for International Settlements (BIS), which acts as the central bankers’ central bank, has been appointed president of the subsidiary JP Morgan Chase International. He will act as an international ambassador for the finance house. Sir Andrew [Crockett], 60, will also oversee a number of client relationships, as well as assuming a key internal management role. He is to serve on JP Morgan’s Risk Management Committee and its Policy Review Forum — a group whose remit includes assessing the potential for conflicts within the firm.”

What is the Mises Institute?

The Mises Institute is a non-profit organization that exists to promote teaching and research in the Austrian School of economics, individual freedom, honest history, and international peace, in the tradition of Ludwig von Mises and Murray N. Rothbard.

Non-political, non-partisan, and non-PC, we advocate a radical shift in the intellectual climate, away from statism and toward a private property order. We believe that our foundational ideas are of permanent value, and oppose all efforts at compromise, sellout, and amalgamation of these ideas with fashionable political, cultural, and social doctrines inimical to their spirit.
