Faculty, Associated Scholars, and More:

The Mises Institute Research Fellowship program has been vital to the growth of the modern Austrian school by graduate, law school, and post-doc students with support in their academic research.

This year, we’ve hosted 11 fellows in residence:

University of Florida
Research: Exploration of the relationship between the racial violence that took place in Perry, Florida during the 1920s and the use of debt peonage in turpentine camps to control black laborers. Goal is to identify the potential connections between the labor practices in the turpentine camp, the racial violence that took place in the town during the early 1920s, and the state policies that empowered turpentine business to conscript workers.

Nicholas Cooper sponsored by Ken Garschina
George Mason University
Research: An examination of the history of the Bank of Amsterdam that critically evaluates its proper role in that debate as an example of a 100-percent reserve bank operating in action.

Dr. Lukasz Dominiak, Laing Visiting Scholar

Research: How developments in evolutionary biology support a libertarian, free-market outlook. How trade played a major role in the rise of human cognition and morality, and the role of major philosophers.

Marcel Gautreau sponsored by James Kluttz
