Paul Johnson
Paul Bede Johnson (born 2 November 1928 in Manchester, England) is an English journalist, historian, speechwriter and author.He was educated at the Jesuit independent school Stonyhurst College, and at Magdalen College, Oxford, where one of his tutors was the historian A.J.P. Taylor. His books include The History of the Jews (1987) and A History of the American People (1997) and in 1999 he wrote the introduction to Murray N. Rothbard's America's Great Depression. In 2006 Johnson was honored with the Presidential Medal of Freedom by US President George W. Bush.
