Jacob Rainer Swartz

Jacob Swartz is a writer, commentator, and independent journalist based in the Washington, D.C., area. A former apprentice with the Mises Institute, he was a Ron Paul Scholar with the Institute for Peace and Prosperity in 2023 and 2024, and holds a bachelor’s degree in English, economics, and political science from George Mason University.

In addition to the Mises Wire, Swartz is a regular contributor to Reason magazine, where his reporting and commentary focus on civil liberties, political economy, and institutional power. His writing has also appeared in guest essays across various Substack publications.

He is the host of “The Politicrat,” a YouTube channel where he conducts interviews with scholars, journalists, and public intellectuals, and produces long-form video essays on politics, economics, and culture. He has also appeared on numerous podcasts discussing public policy, history, and political philosophy.
