Join us as we commemorate the Year of Rothbard with a special conference.
Rothbard University 2026

Murray N. Rothbard was born in 1926, one hundred years ago, and became an important and indispensable contributor to revitalizing the Austrian School into the recognized school of economic thought it is today.

In honor of all that Rothbard did to further the cause of liberty and unmask the role of the state in our lives, we want to celebrate the Year of Rothbard with a special, first-of-its-kind event: Rothbard University. Featuring an intensive course of lectures in Austrian economics, meals with faculty, and a closing cookout, Rothbard University will be structured like Mises University but open to everyone, not just students. And yes, there will be an optional test, too! Join us in Auburn May 14–16, for this landmark event.

Mises University has been our flagship student program since 1986 for a reason. It is the essential training ground for budding economists in the Misesian tradition. University students from around the world come to Auburn, Alabama, to learn about markets and prices, money and banking, the importance of the division of labor, Austrian business cycle theory, the failures of socialism, and more.

But it isn’t just university students who are interested in these ideas. So, in the spirit of Murray Rothbard and celebration of his legacy, we invite anyone and everyone to join us for Rothbard University.

What better way to celebrate Rothbard’s 100th birthday than to champion and further his lifelong mission to spread the ideas of liberty and Austrian economics?

The event will begin on Thursday, May 14, at 4:00 p.m. with registration, Institute tours, and dinner. Lectures will begin on Friday, May 15, at 9:00 a.m. and end that afternoon.
