Pictures from the event are here.

Join Professor Thomas DiLorenzo and Jeff Deist for a special meetup gathering in Birmingham, Alabama on Saturday, April 10, 2021!

  • We'll meet upstairs at the beautiful Avondale Brewing Company (once a secret bordello), 204 41st Street, from 11:30 a.m.  to  2:00 p.m. central time. The registration fee is only $35, and includes a barbecue lunch—plus there will be plenty of delicious beers on tap for you to try.

Our topic is the politics and economics of lockdowns. Covid numbers are falling. Even the most criminally authoritarian governors have begun to "reopen" their states, which of course they had no legal authority to shut down in the first place. The damage done to both the US and global economy is only now starting to be understood. Monetary and fiscal stimulus have been used to cover up and delay the economic fallout, but the costs will be paid by all of us. How bad is it, and what can be done to seize the day for greater economic freedom? Dr. DiLorenzo and Jeff Deist will consider both provide candid discussion plus Q and A in a small group setting. Plus we'll enjoy a panel on strategy in the post-Trump/Biden era with Dr. Jonathan Newman and led by Tho Bishop.

Professor DiLorenzo: "Why the Absence of a Crisis is a Crisis for the State"
Jeff Deist: "A Covid Counterfactual"
