If World War I was allegedly fought “to make the world safe for democracy,” World War II seems to have made the world “safe” for socialism, as socialist regimes took power or expanded their reach. Myanmar was one of those countries, and the political turmoil there continues to the present.

Hein Htet Kyaw is a human rights activist and anti-censorship hacktivist from Myanmar who is actively struggling against the state-sponsored blasphemy laws of Myanmar and the military dictatorship. Hein Htet Kyaw is the Director of Australasia at Atheist Alliance International, an international advocacy group with special consultative status at the United Nations and a Regional Coordinator for Australia at Students for Liberty.
