Christopher J. Calton is the Research Fellow in Housing and Homelessness at the Independent Institute. He received his Ph.D. in History at the University of Florida, where his research focused on the history of the corporation. Dr. Calton is a contributor to Beyond Homeless: Good Intentions, Bad Outcomes, Transformative Solutions. Dr. Calton is the author of scholarly articles in such journals as The Virginia Magazine of History and Biography and Libertarian Papers, and book reviews in The Independent Review. His popular articles have appeared in the San Francisco Chronicle, The Hill, MSN News, The Washington Times, Miami Herald, San Diego Union-Tribune, and others. He has also written extensively for the Mises Wire, and hosted the Historical Controversies podcast.
