Wealth Creation Through Inflation?

Economist Kurt Richebächer’s article A Grotesque Misnomer [link, scroll about 2/3 of the way down the web page to find the start of the article] ridicules the idea that a central bank policy aiming at inflating asset prices constitutes a form of wealth creation. Wealth ultimately is the ability to consume more goods, which can only be produced by more capital, which requires more savings.

First-Ever Private Spaceport Nears Final Approval

Could the stifling State layer that surrounds our planet and cuts us off from space finally be opening up for entrepreneurship? Slashdot reports: “According to the article on Space.com, the Federal Aviation Administration is nearing the final stages of certifying the Mojave Airport as the first-ever private spaceport. Both Scaled Composites and XCOR Aerospace (the two leading competitors in the X-Prize competition) currently fly out of Mojave Airport.

Additionally, funding the construction of missiles, tanks, carriers and other such warring goods requires the diversion of productive capital into inefficient and unproductive industries (the utility of a tank on a farm is roughly the same as a tractor on a battlefield). The Linus that Stole Linux

I thought some people here might be interested in one of the latest absurd claims floating around. The Alexis de Tocqueville Institute’s President, Ken Brown, has declared that Linus wasn’t really the creator of Linux, but stole it.

To try to back up his absurd claim, Brown tried to go to interview Andy Tanenbaum, the creator of MINIX. Brown did not bother to interview Linus Torvalds, the person he’s accusing of intellectual thievery, before launching his criticisms.
