Data centers are quickly emerging as one of the major political issues of the day.
These large warehouses full of computer servers processing, storing, and distributing digital information are not new. They’ve been a prevalent part of the world’s digital infrastructure since the internet—and cloud storage, and remote processing, especially—became ubiquitous in modern life.
The AP reports that the pro-freedom Ron Paul disciple Congressman Thomas Massie has been defeated by Ed Gallrein. For years, Trump has called for Massie’s removal for Congress in response to his insistence on the rule of law and his call for the release of the Epstein Files. The trouble largely began during Trump’s first term when Massie opposed Trump’s efforts to pass Trump’s covid-era budget without a recorded vote in Congress.
After Kevin Warsh was confirmed as Federal Reserve chairman last week, he received a stark reminder of the challenges facing the central bank. The reminder came in the form of a worldwide surge in the interest rates paid by government bonds. The surge followed the spike in oil prices caused by the Iran War.
At this point, the conservative populist political strategy amounts to little more than doing the same thing over and over, and when that fails, trying the exact same thing yet again.
