I have written much before on the state of Sweden, the mythical land of “working” socialism. Here is another example of how it seems to not work at all as the global myth has it. The huge discount store of Gekås in the small, 9,000-population town of Ullared in southern Sweden attracts 28,000 customers daily.
The history that didn’t happen can be just as interesting as the history that did.

Ever since the release of Google+, I’ve been thinking through what Google had to go through to match and improve on Facebook. People think that geekery is all about code but there is serious intellectual work that precedes the code that is just as hard. Google had to figure out what they did wrong with Buzz (as I explained) but also figure out what is actually wrong with Facebook, if there is such a thing.
Not really being into space stuff, I was prepared not to be interested in this. But Jeff Greason’s economic outlook is absolutely spectacular. He really gets it.
Today the New York Times has a debate among legal scholars considering whether three years of law school, followed by the bar exam, should be required to enter the legal profession.
