Vasilii Sapozhnikov
Vasilii Sapozhnikov is an economist and financial analyst with over twenty years in equity, commodity, and currency markets. He studied economics at Ural State University in Yekaterinburg, completed postgraduate work in economic theory, and passed the doctoral qualifying examinations in 2005. He has headed sector research at FC Otkritie in Moscow, sat on the index committee of the RTS Stock Exchange, and run a private investment fund as managing director. He currently heads stock market analytics at Era of Consulting. He is a member of the American Finance Association and the author of As It Were a New Economy, a study of the business cycle built on Austrian capital theory, with the Dow/Gold ratio as its central analytical instrument.
