75 years ago, in October 1944, Ludwig von Mises addressed a select group of business leaders at The California Club in Los Angeles. This year we celebrate him and his work in the same historic venue—and you won't want to miss it!

Lew Rockwell and Jeff Deist will host, along with great guests like Tom Woods, Paul Cantor, Peter Klein, David Gordon, Michael Boldin, and Patrick Newman (the skilled young editor of Rothbard's Progressive Era and final volume of Conceived in Liberty).

In 1944 Mises was at the height of his brilliance. He had just published Bureaucracy and Omnipotent Government, and just warned the world what Bretton Woods might bring. His insights into money, banking, gold, war, fascism, Russia, and international trade all seemed incredibly accurate at the end of WWII. With the help of men like Henry Hazlitt and Leonard Read, Mises was a rising star as an émigré in America, and he certainly didn't disappoint his audience in Los Angeles.

Mises and his work remain incredibly prescient and relevant today. The world needs his voice more than ever, and our speakers will celebrate Mises as a supremely vital thinker well-suited for today's challenges. This will be the intellectual and social event of the year for fans of Mises!

We'll kick off on Friday, October 25, at 6:00 p.m. with a gala reception and dinner (cocktail attire) at the beautiful Biltmore Los Angeles where Mises stayed—with special guest room rates for all attendees. Saturday, we meet for breakfast and sessions sponsored by Gary and Nina Turpanjian at the beautiful, private California Club, the site of Mises's speech to the National Association of Manufacturers. Saturday evening you can enjoy cocktails and dinner with Lew Rockwell at the 1928 Art Deco Cicada Club, followed by dancing to music of the era. And Sunday morning we'll conclude with a casual brunch at the Biltmore.

In order to preserve the customs and traditions at The California Club, all Members, Privilege Holders and their Guests are requested to conduct themselves with decorum and in keeping with the Club's traditional concepts of dignity and mutual respect. Appropriate Business Casual Attire is acceptable throughout the Clubhouse. This includes clothing customary of good taste, collared shirts, slacks or khakis. This DOES NOT include athletic shoes, flop flops, or all-denim.
