The Scholarship of Liberty: The Twentieth Anniversary of the Mises Institute

The Scholarship of Liberty 20th Anniversary 2002
- Event

On October 18–19, 2002, the Mises Institute celebrates its 20th anniversary with a retrospective of the huge progress made thus far, and a look into the future. The young professors, intellectual giants, working journalists, and financial professionals who are Mises Institute senior and adjunct scholars will offer workshops on their contribution to the scholarship of liberty, and give you an inside look into how the world of ideas works to change history.

Over two days, you can tour the Mises Institute’s spectacular campus and attend any of the 50 sessions. Ron Paul, Washington’s only libertarian congressman, will speak, the Schlarbaum Prize for lifetime achievement in the cause of liberty will be awarded to Bettina Bien Greaves, and we’ll hear a rare performance of songs from Mises’s Vienna seminar. Mises Institute President Llewellyn H. Rockwell, Jr., will speak that evening: “How the Austrian School Will Save the World: The Next Twenty Years.” This will be followed by a performance of Schubert songs that Mises loved, and dancing.

Among our guests: Charles Adams (Williamsville, New York), William Anderson (Frostburg State University), Marco Bassani (University of Milan), Walter Block (Loyola University, New Orleans), Gene Callahan (Mises Institute), Gabriel Calzada (University of Madrid), Paul Cantor (University of Virginia),  Anthony Carilli (Hampden-Sydney College),  John V.
