Yellen Sees No Bubbles

Janet Yellen You want a piece out of me?

Janet Yellen was answering at the "Finance and Society" conference in Washington DC from Christine Lagarde, the Director of the International Monetary Fund when she said:

"I would highlight that equity market valuations at this point generally are quite high," Yellen said. "There are potential dangers there."

However, she assured the audience that the Fed would keep its collective eye on banks and other financial firms to prevent any troubles. She said that this risk had already been moderated and that she saw no bubbles forming in the economy. OK

What is the Mises Institute?

The Mises Institute is a non-profit organization that exists to promote teaching and research in the Austrian School of economics, individual freedom, honest history, and international peace, in the tradition of Ludwig von Mises and Murray N. Rothbard.

Non-political, non-partisan, and non-PC, we advocate a radical shift in the intellectual climate, away from statism and toward a private property order. We believe that our foundational ideas are of permanent value, and oppose all efforts at compromise, sellout, and amalgamation of these ideas with fashionable political, cultural, and social doctrines inimical to their spirit.
