19th-century Belgian economist Gustave de Molinari was a member of the French Liberal School and is considered the founder of free-market anarchism. I've just finished translating some essays by and about him:

Molinari's Utopia of Liberty (1848) -- an early attempt at "libertarian outreach to the left"

Molinari's The Feeding of Paris During the Siege (1871) -- describing how the French government's attempts to alleviate the siege made it worse

Yves Guyot's Obituary for Molinari (1912) -- a sketch of Molinari's life and work

What is the Mises Institute?

The Mises Institute is a non-profit organization that exists to promote teaching and research in the Austrian School of economics, individual freedom, honest history, and international peace, in the tradition of Ludwig von Mises and Murray N. Rothbard.

Non-political, non-partisan, and non-PC, we advocate a radical shift in the intellectual climate, away from statism and toward a private property order. We believe that our foundational ideas are of permanent value, and oppose all efforts at compromise, sellout, and amalgamation of these ideas with fashionable political, cultural, and social doctrines inimical to their spirit.
