Mises U Day 1 Highlights

Mises Daily: Monday, July 21, 2014 by

Students began to arrive Sunday afternoon and by 5 pm, the Mises Institute was filled with students from around the nation, and around the world. Everyone had plenty to talk about.

Dinner was served at 6 pm, and our faculty members were sure to sit with the students so our students could get to know them and ask them questions.

At 7 pm, everyone moved up to Wolfe Lecture Hall where Jeff Deist welcomed the students before introducing Tom Woods who delivered the opening lecture, “The Role of Austrian Economics in the Liberty Movement” which explained the distinction between Austrian economics as a school of economic inquiry, and the political movement sometimes called “the Liberty Movement.”
