Anyone know what the Left's solution/reply to Bastiat's Wages? I personally think that this is Bastiat's greatest treatise against all the multitudes of Socialism. Basically the treatise explains how any form of socialism will deteriorates into stagnation due to the innate nature of mankind to find comfort and protection in fixity. An ominous sign for Free-market (Freedom) Anarchy. It should be required reading on par with Government, The Law, Seen and Unseen, What is Money?, Broken Window, might as well recommend everything Bastiat wrote :p.

i could say the same about the innate nature of mankind to innovate, explore, shock, break the mold etc. besides which there is no particular implication for this against the free market, rather it sounds like one day in free market anarchy would be much like the next. (which i believe little since accumulating wealth and technology has never mean stasis in culture and behaviour at any time in history that i can think of)

I was only pointing to the obstacles that need to be surmounted by Anarcho-Freedom. The reasons Anarcho-Freedom is an effective political structure is because it mitigates the worst scenario down to a local level not effecting everyone else. Communes would thrive in Anarcho-freedom due to the nature of being in contact with those who are truly taking risks. They won't thrive as much as those who are truly Free market Anarchist, but at least they would be able to sustain their stagnation and slowly progress.... In the end it is something to take heed. Yes there are possibles ways of overcoming these problems, for example; Entrepreneurs buying vasts plots of land and renting to uphold the rules and pleasure of those socialist. There are also destructive scenarios.
