Charitable mafias

Someone mentioned that mafias do a lot of charity work. I looked up "charity mafia" but only got this relevant result:

Got any others? I'm unsure about the motivations behind their actions, but hey, the profit motive is valid. As long as they don't hurt others. Their main sources of income, though, don't seem thaaat bad (relative to what the government does, lol).
