Hello there! I have been reading some of the articles on this site and I thought I might as well sign up to join in on the discussions. I was raised largely apolitical. My family never really spoke much of politics and the only person who I can consider actually ever having any political influence on me was my grandfather. I am from Ohio in the United States, but recently I have been living in Jerusalem, Israel. I am not here to do anything except enjoy myself, so I am using this time to figure out who I as a person before going to college in the fall. Going back to politics, I discovered Libertarianism after sitting down and trying to understand where I sit, so to speak. I see the inherent flaws in Democracy, and as such see the necessity in having a system that emphasizes individual rights. At the moment I'm reading every piece of Libertarian literature that I can get my hands on, which hopefully will refine my beliefs all the more.

Starting apolitical and going libertarian is no change at all!

One is not being interested in politics at all, the other is trying to get rid of politics. How that isn't a change is beyond me; or were you being tongue-in-cheek?

^^Is this from politicalcompass.org?  My score was (6,50,-2.62).  I thought there were way too many questions about personal choice and ethics to be an accurate political placement quiz.  For example, I agreed that "Military action that defies international law is sometimes justified."  This doesn't make me authoritarian, I'm just opposed to international law.  There were many questions that don't really lean either way because they present a false dichotomy of two authorities.
