Why can I access Mises.org's CMS?

To the right of the events link on the main page bar I see a link saying edit. When I click it takes me to something it says is the Mises.org Content Management System. Was this supposed to happen? I have the power to upload pdfs it seems...

Where can i subscribe to the QJAE!?

Hi,

I really want to subscribe to a libertarian and/or austrian scholarly journal. It'd be nice to have a printed version of the Mises daily website every 3 months. I was wondering if its even possible to subscribe and if it is where do i do it? Thanks. I've been looking for so long!!!!!

Hi,

I've written two emails to the Mises editors at their email and have received no response.

Now, the first was a request to include Mises Daily articles on my website, giving full citations and linking. It's understandable if they decided to not reply so as to not embarrass me.

But the next time I sent them articles for the Mises Daily. The least they could have done was to either say "you suck" or "We have received your email and will consider your entry. Expect to hear back from us within 1 month."

I realize you're busy and under-funded, but bad customer relations are not how you go about doing business.

I wasn't sure if this is the right category in which to post this question. I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to buy a first edition of, say, Human Action or Theory of Money and Credit or Man Economy and State. I think it'd be neat to own the first edition.

For my part I'm going to do everything I can to boycott the creator of this software, "Telligent". Well, everything short of leaving the forum (it's bad, but it's certainly not THAT bad).

Is Telligent typical in terms of forum software packages? I would have thought it was freeware from all of its quirks, but apparently they actually charge a bit of money. The PHP software I looked up online looks like it would be a few hundred dollars to buy and install and less than a hundred dollars per year to renew (but I must say I have no idea of what other costs involved in running a forum).

What kind of dollar figures would be needed to dump Telligent for a more user (and I'm sure moderator)-friendly platform? PHP, vBulletin, whatever is ultimately chosen by the admin - maybe a fund raised by donations could be established for its purchase? Put a "donation counter" on the main page to track the progress of donations. That would actually be exciting since the counter wuold be like a "Countdown to a Better Forum"

Anyway, just some ideas.

Spam in my user comments?

For many months now, I get nearly daily emails from the Mises forum along the lines of "great blog post...(link to cheap Viagra)".

Logging back into my user, I find that these are coming from the "My Comments" section of my user. What's going on here? How can I stop them?

Download whole of Human Action? How?

I have a very fast Internet connection and could download the whole of Human Action narrated by Jeff Riggenbach rather than take the time to download each of the segments. Is there a complete download of the book? I have the hard copy scholar's edition but I also would like to listen to what I have read to help me absorb it better.

Any help would be appreciated(if this has been dealt with already I am sorry for asking again but I don't know how to search very well.)

How do you get a Utube video to show up in a post? I see where I can "copy embed html", but the video itself does no appear in the post.

Help recording lectures to CD-Rs?

I want to make a playlist of lectures I could play in the car on the way to work. The CD I own has a max capacity of (this is what's on the cover of the new CD a buddy gave me) 700MB/Mo 52x80Min.

Which number is the actual limit: the MB capacity or the time duration? I have two lectures that, together, are 00:73:38 in duration but take up only 20 MB on the CD-R.

Is there a way to compress .mp3 files (so that I can add more than just two unrelated lectures) or is there a certain type of CD that is capable of containing more data?

Any help would be appreciated.

You know it. Every website, that has been around for a while tends to accumulate small problems, typos, migration issues and other ballast. Even with the best webmasters, big websites will have their imperfections hidden in odd corners, waiting to jump on unsuspecting visitors and spoil their experience.

This thread is inspired by this post as well as similar concerns of my own regarding the matter in question. In the last week or so, mises.org has crashed- a lot. It isn't just from my computer just being stubborn, either. Typing [mises.org] here during these recent few episodes yields the result: It's not just you! mises.org looks down from here.

Does anyone have ideas as to why this may be occurring?

Techie question: Does anyone know a way to view a Blogger blog oldest to newest?

So most blogs display posts with newest at the top. Wordpress allows you to manipulate this view by playing with the URL. However, Blogger doesn't make things so easy. In fact, it looks as though the only way to do this is for the site administrator to hack the site code to give it that kind of functionality.

So far I haven't been able to find a way to just view it that way, as a site visitor.

Anyone who can show me how to view a Blogger blog (more specifically, this one) with posts in top to bottom chronological order, would be in my extreme good graces.

Media Downloads; Hard Copy

Hi,

Wish I had great internet and could torrent the 120 gb of Mises media.

Now, listening to longer audios, the download aborts every 5-10 minutes, and I have to reload the page to try to get the Flash audio player to resume. Some, like 4hr book chapters, don't "resume download" so I only get the first bits.

Are there Mises mirrors in the Midwest (Minnesota, US)?

Can I buy a hard drive with the whole media torrent on it?
