Id say the sun has a pretty massive influence.

I hate it when it rains.

I like it when its mildly sunny (but not too hot).

When its cloudy its meh as long as it isnt TOO cloudy.

Im in the middle type of person.

Re: News Aura

@Wheylous: I do plan to start adding in discussion of the interpretive aspects over time (i.e. the meaning of retrograde Jupiter in Gemini, etc.)

Here are some positive reasons for including the astrological stuff:

Awareness of the situation of the heavens provides a memorable basis on which to hang the events in one's own life. For example, Jupiter is in Gemini and will be there until June 2013. Saturn is in Scorpio until 2015. So "Jupiter in Gemini, Saturn in Scorpio" is a way to remember events that are occuring now until mid-2013. If you learn an important lesson in business, for example, you can mnemonically tie it to events in the heavens so that you have a way to remember it going forward.

We fall into ruts and habits too easily and it can be difficult to find a basis on which to get out of those ruts. The "pseudo-random" pattern of the planetary positions can provide a safe impetus for branching out and trying new things. I say "safe" precisely because the planetary positions are not directly correlated* with anything on Earth. That non-correlation means that regardless of whatever is going on in your life, the planets will move into positions which traditional interpretations take to mean you should start doing X or stop doing Y. It's a kind of randomized "new idea machine".

The basic astrological concepts are aesthetically pleasing which is what makes them compelling even though they have no rigorous philosophical or scientific basis. This provides an impetus to use astrology as a basis for individualized reflection on how one is living one's life. Are you pursuing high ideals? Are you living life as you ought? Are you treating others around you properly? What can you do to improve yourself? While astrology doesn't have "the answers", I believe it is a good starting point to keep yourself searching for them. In other words, the astrologer or wizard is a metaphor for acting man. He remembers past lessons, assesses his present situation, prognisticates the future, and then acts accordingly to bring about his desired ends.

This is on the more conspiratorial end of things - I believe that the Elites still actively use astrology in their own affairs, including planning collective actions. So, while the planets may not be about to cause "evil to be wrought upon the Earth", some of those who do wreak evil upon the Earth pay attention to the planets.

	Clayton -

*This is not the same as saying they have no influence... something modern science really cannot say anything about one way or the other as we do not really understand the mechanism of the solar system; the prevailing gravitation model is acausal

Re: News Aura

	Multiple choice.

	The Sun has:

	a) Very little influence on our life

	b) Some influence on our life

	c) A massive influence on our life

	------

And, by the way, I make no connection between the horoscope and fate. Since when is the only reason to track the positions of the planets to prognisticate the future?

OK, here's my pilot attempt at a daily vlog idea I'm calling News Aura. Credit where due, this was inspired by Suspicious0bservers but with my own take and a focus on economic indicators and selected socio-political news. Astronomy news and horoscope will be a daily feature. I hope to polish my presentation over time but I'm in learning mode right now.
