Easy Credit?

Now, we ALL are familiar with the term EASY CREDIT, but what does it mean for us? For some, it means a house, or a vehicle you wouldn't be able to afford normally, but for others (people like me), it means more toxic assets coming from pseudo-private/government entities. When the $700,000,000,000 bank bailout first came up, my thoughts immediately turned to the credit disaster that happened in the state of Mississippi in the late 1800s under President Andrew Jackson. The state of Mississippi was sitting on a surplus, but then Andrew Jackson created these PET BANKS that gave credit to ANYONE. People were buying up land on credit given out carelessly by the banks. This period of easy credit lasted for 4 years then the banks ran out of money and the entire system collapsed. All of the land that was bought with the credit given by the banks was immediately repossessed and the entire state, for a length of time, plummeted into a depression.

I am unaware how long the depression lasted, or if anyone was BAILED OUT, but I do know this; the incident I just listed above is never talked about anymore. The above incident should have been brought up the very second the idea of the BANK BAILOUT came up. It's almost as if we haven't learned a THING from history. Now the same thing is being done with Obama's CASH FOR CLUNKERS program. And it will end exactly the same way. Only this time it will be worse, since the funding for that program is coming from printed and borrowed paper money.

What Happened?

Whenever I turn on a news station, whether it be Fox News, CBS, MSNBC, ABC, or whatever, I see both "Conservative" interviewees and "Conservative" pundits who slam Obama religiously. They slam him no matter what he does or doesn't do. Now, I'm not defending Obama by any means. I supported neither Obama or McCain in the '08 elections. John McCain was known to his party as a maverick, someone who was different from the party. But when his voting record came out, it was a shocker to everyone who, like me, sincerely believe that George W. Bush was the worst thing to ever happen to this country. All of the invasions, the nation building, the policing of the world that came from George W. Bush despite his campaign rhetoric. And what exactly did these "Conservatives" do? They patted him on the back and among these "Conservatives", the same ones who rigorously oppose Obama on CONSTITUTIONAL grounds, George W. Bush is credited at one of the best presidents we've ever had despite all of the horror he brought this country.

Neo-Conservatives Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh applauded Bush in whatever he did.  They applauded The Patriot Act, The Military Commissions Act, that act of Bush calling the Constitution, "Just a goddamn piece of paper" when considering the re-passing of The Patriot Act, they applauded him when he was considering a constitutional amendment banning Gay Marriage, they applauded him for invading Iraq, they applauded him for nation building. I could continue naming things off but, that would get very boring.

Many of these Neo-Conservatives like Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and Glenn Beck are complaining about our freedoms being liquidated. Well, let me ask you a few questions about freedom.

Question 1: When it comes to the freedom for one individual to marry whoever he/she wants, do you support that freedom? Answer: No you don't. You oppose Gay Marriage. It's interesting that you people are complaining about Big Government, yet would be grateful if the government told you who you can and can't marry. You supported, and still support, the idea of a Nation-Wide ban on Gay Marriage BACKED by the federal government that you claim is OH SO EVIL.

Question 2: When it comes to the freedom for an individual to do what he/she wants with his/her body, do you support that freedom? Answer: No you're don't. You want Rove vs. Wade over-turned so you can place a Nation-Wide ban on abortion, and you ON THE FEDERAL LEVEL, oppose drug use. You also object to Gay Sex, or any type of promiscuity.

Question 3: When it comes to the freedom of expressing your religious beliefs without the worry of being lynched, do you support that freedom? Answer: No you don't. The Federal Government gives unbelievable privileges to Christians. You're constantly raving about how Islam is taking over our schools, which is about as true as the idea of you all being true conservatives, about how Atheism is rising and we need to put GOD back in our country and our schools. You also seem to believe that religion is a REQUIREMENT for office, which is proven FALSE by our Constitution that you seem to enjoy waving about in the air. What would your attitude be if a self-proclaimed Muslim ran for office? What would your attitude be if a self-proclaimed Pagan ran for office? What would your attitude be if a self-proclaimed SATANIST ran for office? That's precisely my point. You would oppose and demonize these people no matter WHAT their political philosophies are.

Question 4: When it comes to the freedom of other nations to build their own systems of government, do you support that freedom? No you don't. If you did, you wouldn't subsidize the 700 bases we have in 130 countries. You wouldn't support nation building, you wouldn't support pre-emptive war, you wouldn't support the U.N., you wouldn't support sanctions being placed on other countries, this list goes on and on.

So we see that most of the freedoms people support, you are against. Now, with all of those factors pointed out, how can you be the party of the constitution?

Someone once asked, "What happened to the Republican Party?" Texas Congressman Ron Paul, quite possibly the last TRUE Conservative in Washington, responded, "They've lost their way."

I highly doubt they lost there way like Dr. Paul thinks. I've noticed that when it comes to spending, big government, etc., The Republican Party will always oppose the opposite party. But when in office themselves, you see what happens. Dr. Paul remarked on this, but he thinks that the criticism of the current administration coming from the Republican Party is sincere. In my honest opinion, Dr. Paul is FAR too naive in regards to the people in his party. They didn't "lose" their way as Dr. Paul thinks, they willingly gave it up. They gave it up for "bigger" pursuits.

Now, for the big question: What happened? What could have corrupted our system to such a degree? That question, I leave for you to think about.
