Thoughts on the upcoming Ron Paul Announcement

The latest press release shows that:

Dr. Paul will announce his intentions for the fall presidential election and will be accompanied by several special guests.

This could mean anything. However, it doesn't sound like an endorsement, since the title of the press release calls this a "major" announcement.

I'm hoping Dr. Paul will run for the Presidency...perhaps on a 3rd Party ticket. I am not a political expert (and never will be); so I don't know all of the rules. Perhaps there is no way for Dr. Paul to run....I don't know.

But if it's possible, I think the news would be huge.

I've been against a 3rd party run from the beginning. However, after seeing McCain's acceptance speech and what the entire Republican Party has become, I think it's time for Dr. Paul to separate himself once and for all. His name should no longer be associated with the Republicans...even if it means losing his Congressional seat.

McCain has been on a roll. His VP pick and convention bounce have given him the lead in several polls. I'm starting to see some Democratic writers actually getting worried that Obama might lose the election. I think this is wonderful news for a Ron Paul candidacy. I believe there are many Obama supporters who can be swayed to vote for Ron Paul; especially if Obama continues to lose steam.

There is a Liberty & Peace vaccuum, and there's no better man then Dr. Paul (and his passionate supporters) to step in and fill it.

Those are my amateur political thoughts.

I have seen a posting elsewhere that says  Chuck Baldwin will be at the news conference but I have not seen a similar announcement about Bob Barr.  I deeply hope that this is not an indication that Ron is about to endorse Chuck over Bob.  While I would have liked to have seen him endorse Barr, I can respect his reasoning to not endorse one over the other.

However, endorsing Baldwin over Barr would imply an endorsement of the theocratic party (CP) under which Baldwin is running.  I believe this is totally inappropriate in a country which prides itself on strict separation of church and state.

While I have no  problems with an individual promoting various position because s/he finds them consistent with their religious tenants,  I have a great problem with a political party that claims to be advancing it's agenda in the name of not only a generalized god but a very specific one, namely in the CP's case Jesus.  How can Jews, Muslims and pagans expect fair treatment in such an administration?

I personally don't believe that the Republican Party can be saved, but so far have supported Ron's efforts to try to do so.  For me a Baldwin endorsement would mean a parting of our ways and time for me to remove my Ron Paul stickers from my vehicles as well as ending my financial support of the campaign for liberty.

The CP is not a theocratic party, and I, also a long-time Ron Paul supporter, hope that Ron will endorse their candidates.  Theocracy has a specific meaning, and the CP is not that.

I'm suspicious that you are a troll.  Anyone who has taken the time to follow Ron Paul's presidential run knows that he could expect the same treatment under a Paul administration no matter which party he was elected through.  To throw him off because he might do it through the CP is just as silly as not voting for him because the RP is a corrupt piece of totalitarian crap.  I think he has proved his ability to stand by and promote his own positions and resist party pressure.

This election season; I not only have listened but I have understood & learned a lot!

I am a Desert Storm Vet and the father of  8 and I am afraid for my children.

There is but one leader that I trust, and there is but one politician I believe.

Ron Paul has the Honesty, integrity & perseverance that we should all follow.

I see the "status quo" as two parties running towards a cliff but one of them is running a little faster. Now I have found a person willing to try and turn before we fall off. Yes the powerful elite are trying to shut him down by pretending he is not really a problem! SHHHH!!! ( maaayyyybeeee if we ignore him he will just go away). But this has not happened. This has brought us together. I know were RP, CB & BB stand on the issues at hand and that is for the country. These men are pro country not pro establishment, they are all fine men and worthy of the number 1 spot.

But in the end, Ron Paul is the one I trust the most. He has earned it!  Although I will not follow anyone blindly (this is a dumb thing to do). This country must change & I am looking forward to some marching orders.

The revolution is on and I am part of it.

Long live the Republic.
