Hi. I'm Matthew Dawson, aka wombatron.
I'm an 19 year old left-libertarian market anarchist. I am studying computer science and entrepreneurship officially, in addition to my private studies of Aristotle, Rand, Veatch, the 19th Century individualist anarchists, and the Austrian School. Given the sad reality of my high-school "education", I was forced to find other ways to educate myself, leading me first to Ayn Rand, and then to ASC, LRC, and LvMI. Later, I discovered agorism and the Alliance of the Libertarian Left. Some of my favorite thinkers are Aristotle, Henry Veatch, Ayn Rand, Benjamin Tucker, Murray Rothbard, Ludwig von Mises, Frederich Hayek, Samuel E. Konkin III, Roderick T. Long, Kevin Carson, Douglas B. Rasmussen, Douglas J. Den Uyl, Chris Sciabarra, and Arthur Silber.
In my spare time, I enjoy reading (science fiction, fantasy, horror, and pop science in addition to economics and philosophy texts) and playing video games (Halo 3, Half Life 2, Total Annihilation, Supreme Commander, and Fallout 3 currently). I think that electoral politics is an impratical strategy for acheiving a free society, and instead support education, direct action, civil disobedience, and building alternative institutions as being superior paths to liberty. I also see workplace democracy, entrepreneurship, alliances with the anti-authoratarian Left, and opposition to sexism, racism, heterosexism, and other patterns of "private" exploitation as being an essential part of establishing a free society. I am interested in learning more about Austrian economics and praxeology, especially in praxeology's wider applications in the social sciences, and I am also interested in crypto-/techno-anarchism, participatory democracy, mutualism, and Extropy. I also admin the Forums of the Libertarian Left, and I blog occasionally at The Examined Life.
