So I was searching for posts of a certain Byzantine, whom I remember being funny on occasion, but all I found was references to him getting quoted. I don't think I even saw one intact post of his, which kinda perplexed, if not to say worried me. I mean, normally when a user gets banned - and usually not even multi-account trolls like Vichy/Liberté do, in fact, get banned - their posts remain. If I remember correctly, even spammers get their posts graveyarded, as opposed to deleted outright.

Can you enlighten me as to what happened here? Unless, of course, you are not at liberty to discuss this; but even then, a subtle hint would be greatly appreciated.

I can say I have no idea. If I had to guess though, I would guess he would have done it to his own posts.

I just checked, and apparently a regular user can't delete their own posts after someone has replied.

I don't see an option for deleting one's whole account either, not that that would necessarily delete one's posts.

Odd, I don't think he has posted here in quite some time. Was there ever a previous time you checked his past posts/profile?

I think I did so once, several weeks or a few months ago, but only today bothered to post about it. I think there wasn't a Member Issues group/forum at that point, and I was reluctant to bust a mod's balls via pm over this.

As you've probably noticed already, Byzantine's profile is gone. For all I know, that might be due to a name change, so I wouldn't worry about that itself; what is strange, however, is the utter lack of posts by that user. Were it not for posts in which other users quoted him, there would be no trace that said user even existed.

AMG! I smell a conspiracy.

In all seriousness I do remember that poster, he did post quite a bit and I did converse with-him via the forum mail system. I never got a hint that he would delete his own posts (although you never know...) .
