• A possible advantage of minarchy?

Considering that private courts would be competing for consumer money, and, therefore, consumers would have a choice over what kind of "law" they want to live under, wouldn't a minarchy or kritarchy be more libertarian? My point being that if consumers can choose law, it is no different...

  • Could anarchy work in human society?

Okay - in another forum, a side issue came up, largely because of my ignorance. While I'd love to discuss the possibilities, all of the anarchists I've encountered to date have been nihilists, with no coherent idea of how anarchist society would work. Finding a self-identified anarchist with...

  • Aviation regulation?

I've been wondering lately how the aviation sector would work in an anarcho-capitalist society, and how common rules regarding flying would develop and be adopted/enforced. I'm not concerned about things like airline safety etc. since this would obviously be solved through certificates and such...

  • Re: Autodidact: The Unnecessary Leper

I'm not certain that I am entering into this intercourse properly, but here goes: Just joined the Forum. Have considered myself to be libertarian for years. I'm impressed at the level of knowledge that I see here. But, I fear that anything that I might post will be summarily dismissed because...

  • Re: The Market for Liberty
I don't disagree with the concept, just the choice of the word, for "anarchy" also mean "chaos" ("Political disorder and confusion" , "confusion; chaos; disorder"). It is unfortunate.
In reply, I quote from an article...

  • Re: Request: A Well Articulated Defense of Anarchism & a Response to the Greatest Problem of Mankind
I'm open to the plausibility of full scale anarchism if its endurance or stamina can be adequately defended.

...how does a group of men, which in the case of anarchism is not really a group but rather, various individuals...

  • Re: Petition to stop being an anarchist

I I prefer the term "anarcho-liberal" over "anarcho-capitalist," since I believe the term "capitalist" is extremely misleading to some and because I believe anarcho-capitalism is the pinacle of left-wing radicalism. But, regardless of my preference in the matter, I understand...

  • Re: I Will Not Compromise - An Open Letter to libertarians

CShirk , You ask, "where do you intend to raise an army?" Government is not necessary for raising armies, counter to your claim. History, indeed, shows your claim to be incorrect. Not only was an army raised in the American colonies under virtually no American government, against the will of...

  • The Market for Liberty

I recently read The Market for Liberty , Linda & Morris Tannehill's 1970 anarcho-Objectivist manifesto. I was struck by many passages. There were many ideas presented that I had not thought of previously, and this work really helped solidify my perspective of anarchism as an orderly system. As...
