Non-WYSIWYG BBCode-Based Post Editor

Could we get an option for a regular bbcode-based post editor? I mean something like what invision (good) and phpbb (better) use? Right now it's a choice between something which rather annoyingly thinks it's a word processor, and a direct html editor. I don't like wysiwyg, but I also don't like having to guess as to what html tags and properties I can/should use.

And a 'gracefully degrading' version so I could read and post from my blackberry...broadband access is few and far between these days and linux blackberry tethering is somewhere between 'mostly works' and 'why did I buy this buggy-ass thing'.
