I was flipping through the channels the other night, and I came upon CNN interviewing the women of "The View". CNN wanted the hosts' opinion on Sarah Palin. The genius that is Joy Behar said that she wasn't too comfortable knowing that with Palin's inexperience, she would be a heartbeat away from "running the country." Where did this prevailing opinion among the masses come from, that the President "runs" the country? I guess that 300 million Americans are just puppets on a string guided by the wise and all-knowing leader sent from above to save us all.

My guess is that it's a Beltway-originating meme that is aimed at excluding "outsiders" since they may "rock the boat" called Racket.

My favorite (least favorite) is the comment that the US President is the "Leader of the Free World."  Apparently, the irony is lost on most people.

What she means is that she -- as a member of the media -- will have a new boss to form her propaganda points and false questions.
