First, no Republican I know is happy with the health care system. Republicans are cowards and afraid of being labled as racists by the "Open Minded Progressives" so they resort to just proposing watered down versions of someone elses proposals. To prove this there are now Republicans leading protests against the health care proposals, what's their hurry?
I maintain that given that the purpose of buying health care is to stave off death, disease and misery which manage to creep into the lives of a mass majority of people; there is no health care system that can do this to satisfaction of even a majority. So the current one that is somewhat free is superior to those that are completely un-free.
The real problem is the same as it was with Medicare, that is people think that there is this group of super rich people out there who could easily give up a small portion of their wealth to sponsor health care for the rest of us. The fact that the mathematics just does not add up has nothing to do with the fantasy. The really stupid ones believe that there really is a Lock Box in Washington containing all the savings for Social Security.
I really hope that the freedom lovers of this nation are successful at fighting this orgy of theft and destruction.
Actually there's good evidence health care doesn't really matter. The Amish have a slightly longer life expectancy than regular americans. The life expectancy in medieval spain was 80. Life Span = diet + lifestyle.How can you say healthcare is important to americans when they eat fast food, drink sugar, and don't exercise? :/

You seem to be confusing health care with health insurance, unless I'm missing something in your post.
Sort of. Keep in mind that when congress forces these regulations and perhaps a takeover of our health insurance system, it will definitely effect those sick people who need to have their health restored from disease or illness.
