What are the real life examples and references to SUCCESSFUL privatization of land, labor, and capital in turn protecting the environment?  Links?

What are the real life examples and references to FAILED privatization of land, labor, and capital in turn protecting the environment?  Links?  When I say FAILED, I mean where the government forcibly privatizes (reappropriation of land, labor, captial), as opposed to homesteading.
