They still effectively control the medias (just look at how much coverage the hurricane season is getting on TV, even half a world away) and they have a sympathetic ear in pretty much every political party in the world, but they are quickly&amp;nbsp;losing the support of large industries which, perhaps a bit too late, are realizing the friends they picked to help them out. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Their focus is now switching to reducing consumption... of course this is supposed to affect us peones.
