Not meaning to revive a dead post here, but I just started reading this book, and I'm about halfway to 2/3 of the way through reading the intros/summaries (as the author recommends, since I'm tight on time right now). A lot of the book makes sense in light of what I've learned so far with my econ courses at GMU, but some of it seems very far fetched and a lot of the claims he makes seem to me to be a little over the top. (Admittedly, most of it is probably just me struggling with facing real facts in contradiction to what I always learned in school.) Has anyone around here gone through his sources and verified his historical claims, et cetera? If somebody has, I'd like to know about it, so I can start trying to track down his sources.

Griffin made the book very interesting and I had a hard time putting it down. The book was great, it's very easy to read and has numerous quotes, footnotes and citations. Even though the book it quite large, I finished it within a week(while attending college).

I liked the book quite a bit; I even got it signed by Griffin at a Ron Paul rally. The information presented in the book is thorough enough to make his point flawlessly without weighing down the reader with a truckload of facts. Most importantly, he makes it clear the that Fed isn't the benign attempt to control inflation that textbooks make it out to be. It was planned and pushed through Congress by the clever dealings of elite bankers and financiers purely for their own benefit. Corporatism in the most dangerous area, the realm of currency.

I'm curious what some of you have to say about G. Edward Griffin's "The Creature from Jekyll Island" book? Did you like it? Was it thorough enough or was there any important information you know of that might not have been included by Griffin? Just curious about your thoughts regarding Griffin's historical analysis of the FED.
