Kind of like the 'We don't make the products but make the products that go into the products that make the products' or whatever that ad campaing was all about.

i was also wondering about things like anti-smoking commercials. don't tabacco companies have to pay into some of these; that's essentially no different than tax and spend.

what about the commercials of government-created enterprises like H & R Block, or those creepy vague commericals by giants like GE, who are directly subsidized?

I refuse to believe there has never been any sort of study on this done, with all the chants of a media-government complex.

What has always tripped me up is those Boeing commercials on TV. You know that they are not expecting somebody to buy a long-range bomber after seeing the commercial; rocket scientists aren't that dumb. So the real reason the air those commercials is to either influence the public's perceptions, or to censor the mainstream media outlets by paying them off with lucrative advertising contracts.

Also, you notice they don't say that their goal is to "build the biggest, fastest aircraft", "technological breakthrough", or anything of that variety; they always say something sentimental like "protecting the dreams of millions of future generations". Sickening.

I'm not talking about campaign commercials. I want to know how much is spent annually on government advertisements, such as for the US Army, or any others paid by taxes.

What other aspects of the government-media complex subsidize big government and the established political parties?
