Found a forum debate that some of you may be interested in: http://www.urch.com/forums/phd-economics/111762-institute-humane-studies.html

Figured some of you might want to take part since you're interested in economics and discussing political theory online.  Some of you should sign up and take part in the debate amongst future economists regarding the merits and demerits of liberty.

I'm surprised nobody from an Austrian perspective has decided to take part in this debate.  Please help educate the future MIT and Harvard Economics PhDs that government is not the answer to any and all problems. Claims such as these are being thrown around: "Doing something has "obviously" failed, huh? Yeah. The fact that the world financial system is actually alive (though perhaps on life-support) is not an indication of failure, its an indication of success despite years of absolutely stupid laissez-faire policies."

I took a quick browse on the page that came up on that link you provided.  That quote you provided above... Hmmm, where would somebody even begin to rid the claim that the free market is what's been going on and thus it is "absolutely stupid"?  So with this quote and the first page I browsed I really didn't see any intellectual argumentation just name calling and how can one actually reason with that?  The effort would be a waste of time.  Reasoning with somebody throwing rocks at you doesn't work.

There is some name calling, but there is also a fair bit of argumentation and reasoning (especially after the first page).  You took the time to read the first page, why don't you read some more and make some comments?

I think we can find enough people right here on Mises.org that have pet ideas about liberty being this or that beyond the NAP. Equally, here we can find plenty of crankish economic ideas to bash our heads against. No need to go to a whole other forum for that.

Good points.  I always assumed that most people on this forum have more similar ideas (because I figured you wouldn't get a ton of statist folks coming to a site like this).  I'll probably start frequenting this forum more often, so I'll see in the months to come whether or not my assumption is true.

By the way, I want to thank the person who did decide to go to the forum and make comments.  I find your opinions very interesting and am actually learning a lot.  The discussion is bound to get interesting when you respond to the question about "social justice."
