I am currently stuck in a debate with a collectivist over natural rights. Since we are both atheists, I am stumped as to how to justify natural rights without using God. Can anybody help me here? Thank you.

natural rights is not the right way to attack a collectivist.  instead take a utilitarian angle.  the free market accomplishes the goals of socialism far better than socialism does (high standard of living).

Sorry, but the collectivist started it by asking. Here is the URL of the debate:

Could you tell me where I am wrong and give pointers, if you can. I just warn that it is a long read. I hold my ground on most arguments, but my weak spot is natural rights.

What do rights have to do with any deity in the first place? Answer: nothing.

Rights begin with self-ownership, which is derived a priori. A deity multiplies entities unnecessarily.
