Interesting documentary about how private defence agencys are combatting crime in South Africa. Even though the presenter reveals his dumb statist credentials when he questions one private security agent why he only goes after crimes against persons and propety and doesn't do anything about drug dealers - erm dealing drugs is a victimless crime maybe?

Only plays for people in the UK.
Hopefully it is up on YouTube soon.
If you find something evil that wobbles, push it. - Gary North
Thats sounds like something worth watching, let us know when it is availible outside UK.
Yes, I've brought this up elsewhere, before, that SA has a lot of private security and in fact trusts it more than its useless government. Even in Norway, there is a trend towards private means of protecting oneself.
To darkness I condemn you...
The difference between Norway, is that these South African security firms not only deter crime, but punish the offenders as well. Its a pitty it can't be accessed from the US.
Did anybody watched Shadow Force on the history channel. It is about a bunch of ex-army guys(with a female for diplomacy) doing mercenary work like hunting down fish pirates.(There were trawlers that would deplete a local area depriving local fishermen of food and livelhood.)
It is amazing that they do their work with virtually no violence and sometime without guns.

Is that supposed to be Law and Disorder in Johannesburg? If so it's already available at various Bittorrent sites. Try Mininova.Org .
It's on The Box.bz but a membership is required.

I belong to this site and the downloads are very fast but one has to work their way up to at least a 1 to 1 seeding to download ratio.
It is also on Mininova for those that cannot be bothered with a private torrent site.

Nitroadict: Excellent, I just donated this month, so I should be able to download it without getting kicked out for ratioBTW Twirlcan, if you donate to the site, you can add to your upload ratio; really helped me out when I was getting Life On Mars & Ashes to Ashes (they seem to love large dvd rips on that site...)

I had no idea that site was as popular as it is. I started small and waited until I was 2 to 1 then started downloading other stuff. I now am about 3.5 to 1 and the biggest payoff has been Sherlock Holmes (Jeremy Brett...I am sucker for Edwardian Cocaine addicts and the clothes they wear) and the 1969 series Civilisation (on art history). I have to hit the forums soon as I am transfering all my files to another computer...One that is behind a load balancer. So this means that I have two internet connections and if I am under a heay load, then both files may be hosted on two different IP addresses at the same time. This will get me banned so I have to figure out a way around it.

If that was with Cobus Claasens then I know a few folks involved in that show (but not Mr. Claasens..he is a friend of a friend).
Wait...I just checked google. It is Shadow Company that I am thinking of.

This might be of interest as well.
Another friend of mine, Robert Young Pelton, wrote a book on mercs called Licensed To Kill

I tried to encourage him to rip some of his stuff and make a torrent but so far that has not happend. I used to be the webmaster of this website (when it was primitive yet functional) but in the interest of disclosure I have to say that this is a friend of mine, and it is a website that I am associated with and they sell stuff (but I do not get a cut).
