Hi all, are there any events, seminars, associations or institutes in London UK that would be of interest to a Misesian? I know of the Adam Smith Institute but I get the impression they are pretty close to Cato in their outlook.
Thanks!

Hi Retro,
I am a total outsider to London, and have never been to the UK, but I did come across these links last week for the Libertarian Alliance.

They recently hosted a conference that yielded videos of lectures by Hans-Hermann Hoppe, David Friedman, and others. Maybe this link to their site would provide some possible leads on upcoming events and related groupts? Hope this helps a bit.
Cheers,
David
The Adam Smith institute are a broadly in favour of economic liberalism but their approach is strongly pragmatic and therefore very watered down (from an ideological point of view). From what I have read, Austrian economics does not inform their thinking noticably.
The Adam Smith institute is very much like CATO in the sense its more interested in reaching out to westminster insiders and is more interested in pro-liberty policy wonkage than being firebrands - they leave that the Libertarian Alliance, and I have had the pleasure of attending a meeting the late founder of the Libertarian Alliance Chris Tame.
Mind you, Hayek is listed as one of the Adam Smith's institute's heroes. Along with Milton Friedman and, of course, Adam Smith.
Thanks for all the replies!!
I'll definitely check out the Adam Smith Institute and see what its like. I don't live in London myself either, its for my brother who works in the City and is now reading a lot of Rothbard and Peter Schiff stuff.
If you come across any other stuff please pass it on. Thanks again!
