I think that Brave New World, Animal Farm (the first time I saw that government could be bad), and The Giver do it admirably. What books, for you, show the evils of Satism?

An unusually early & esoteric source for me would be the Scholastic series Animorphs (K.A. Applegate). Of course, I didn't know it then, but a recent trip on the internets for nostalgic summaries made it fairly apparent it was an early influence. Another odd one would be Into The Wild, although very indirectly lol...As for more widely known books, The Giver is a given (oops), but I would also have to give bonus points to Pink Floyd's The Wall for imagery (despite not being a book). Also, at around the 3rd Book, Harry Potter obviously revs up some anti-establishment sentiment that gets stronger with each entry; I'd imagine for someone much younger it would be somewhat of an influence. Douglas Rushkoff's Generation Ecstasy is probably the only novel I can think of that I've read recently, that would be an influence. ***Edit: N/M, thought the OP said Statism... :\

I should have added that to my list.

I think we should start a new thread and try to create a definition for Satism.
