I write math tests for state educational bureaucracies

Evil bastard.

Anyways, fix the High school proficiency exam. I could have passed that thing in 6th grade.

Well,

My handle is M of Bedlam - and some minor twists in logic should reveal my actual name. I'm 24 years old, I hope to get an MBA/MIS over at UNLV - but thats only because I feel that in a world that goes to hell - Sin City is a safe bet. I like to write and I just started a blog here. I confess to not being as logic-ridden (or blessed) but I do hope to bring a more emotive touch to writing.

I'm 21, I'm pursuing a B.A. in mathematics from a small private college in New England.  I (it takes 8 weeks to confirm) passed my first actuarial exam and plan on becoming an actuary if the job market will allow it.

I also played football and currently powerlift as opposed to being a complete nerd.  I'm hoping that the Austrian/libertarian revolution takes hold of all of our youth rather than just the internet gaming generation.  Since I'm in New England, most of my fellow students are statist liberals and refuse to believe anything I say is true.

My name is Vinny Testaverde and I am 44 years old.  Twenty years ago, I sired half this forum when I should have been concentrating on my NFL career.  Fortunately I got things turned around and now in my retirement I am considered one of the deans of the sport.

Make it a great day!

Yes, I know. I've forgotten the name of my father, shame upon the clan, all that.

You're too old to be my son, btw.

My name is Zach.  I'm a college senior biochemistry major, hopefully starting an Md/PhD program next fall.  My main interest in genetics and microbiology research, but I'm starting to get hooked on these Austrain economics stuff.  I even write about it in blog form and for my uni's paper.

My goal is to learn more about economics for my own edification.  The only structured class I've ever had in economics was some BS course in high school, but I'm learning loads already from resources like von Mises Institute, Cato and various books and papers.

I'm Bill, 38 years old, half-Korean.   I live in Brooklyn but am originally from Denver.  I have an economics degree from Columbia U, an insanely hot wife and a supercool 7 year-old son, whom I homeschool.  Physically, I'm big, strong and athletic -- I get comparisons to the Rock every day.  I'm currently trying to get an entreprenuerial venture off the ground, but to support the family I wait tables at Strip House, one of NYC's best steakhouses.

Something unimportant...well I hope to see a Libertarian revolution in Cuba, Venezuala, or Iran, and I'll do everything in my power to see that happen. Hope that helps. Big Smile

My name is Rich. I currently live near Philadelphia, PA--but it is looking like I'm going to be moving shortly due to a change in employment.  I work in the investment banking industry as an cubicle-dwelling, wage-slaving automaton.  I have a B.A. in Economics, a B.A. in Political Science, and a Certificate in Political Economy.  Continuing with an M.A. in Economics is currently in the works.  I'm a former Marine and I play lacrosse.

The name's Kevin. 22 years old here and I'm currently not in school, though I'm about halfway done with a degree in Illustration. I currently make my living by slinging chips for Frito-Lay at various retail outlets and by the occasional freelance illustration/design job. I'm a Karaite Jew by faith and a bit by blood and I'm about to marry the greatest girl on earth. I reside in the whereabouts of Oklahoma City--not a bad place, really.

This forum is an incubator for discussions on liberty, inhabited by almost 7000 members with varying backgrounds and philosophies. As such, it would be good if we knew where each other was coming from in the spirit of good discussion. So please post all the info about yourself you think relevant and interesting.

As they say, no man talks as much as when he talks about himself.

I'll go first:

My real name is my title

Graduated from the United States Air Force Academy with a Bachelors in Economics

Currently an Air Force Intelligence Officer (Less than half a decade left)

Masters of intelligence studies, economic focus

Several white papers on public policy (admittedly Keynesian) waiting for publishing through my alma-mater.

No Wife, No Kids, Long term Girfriend

I enjoy Scuba, Ultra-distance running, Crossfit and metalworking. I have my Airborne parachustist badge, but have yet to attain my A-level jump cert and am way too interested in base jumping. I worked in radio for 4 years and would like to be involved in AM radio at some level in the future.

Ive been studying Austrian economics since 2003 when I realized how broken Keynesian economics is and read the life-changing book "Democracy the god that failed."

My real name is Matthew Dawson, and I'm 19.

I'm currently attending college, and I'm planning on majoring in Computer Science and minoring in Entrepreneurship.

I work as a cart attendant/cashier (no joke) at Target.

In my spare time, I read (mostly SF and some fantasy and horror, in addition to philosophy and economics texts), surf the web, play video games, and work on increasing my programming skills.

I'm currently happily engaged.

I am an Austro-Aristotelian, and a left-libertarian market anarchist, and have been for about a year, after leaning libertarian throughout high school.

Market anarchist, Linux geek, aspiring Perl hacker, and student of the neo-Aristotelians, the classical individualist anarchists, and the Austrian school.
