I second that. I was thoroughly confused. Tongue Tied

I don't mind them much, but this new style change ruined the style i had made for this site.

And the blockquote is in the wrong place:

Notice the dotted border goes through the ForumPostTitle class.

It's a mess. The site has become unusable.

Unusable is a bit of a stretch, but it's definately flawed in a few places.

The bottom left of the bubble on the post page isn't connected. I went looking through the CSS and it's a total waste, they made a bunch of classes to make a curved border when you can just use a bottom image.

Hopefully the bugs get fixed soon.

Ok, it was an upgrade. We'll get the style fixed

When I migrated to the new version, I merged the old theme with the new.  It looks like I will have to repeat the merge in more detail.

This is what the new theme looks like without our customizations:  http://dev.communityserver.com/forums/287.aspx

What do you think of that?

The theme looks OK to me now.  The quotes need work, but hopefully they will fix that in the next release.

this part is still broken.

It uses the same class as the regular posts though, so if you edit one, they both get edited and you'll have too small a bottom border. I have no idea if there's a way to fix it, I'm still pretty new to CSS.

It's terrible. They ditched the alternating post background colours that make it obvious who is saying what.

I'm not going to make any major styling changes until the final version is released but you're welcome to voice your opinions here.  I like the new look overall, so we probably won't go back to the old one.

Can we at least have a text colour that's possible to be read by human eyes?

What? Don't like 60% gray on a white background?

But seriously, what's the issue with allowing users to switch back to the old theme? Many boards I know have this function.

I prefer the forums looking like this.  Far more functional.  I thank you all for the new things.

The WYSIWYG input still needs some work.

The background isn't even white.

There are some issues, I realy don't have the time right now, but maybe we could help HL out by finding the necessary CSS/HTML tweaks to get it right.

I can see the logic of using gray text on a white background versus black on white, as black text on a white background is like staring into a lightbulb (I think Maddox said that, actually...), but the gray is too soft & should be... I would say #333333, or at least between #444444 & #777777.

The Quoting flaw is the only thing that really bothers me; everything else would take some adjustment on the eyes.

Honestly though, if you use firefox, you can easily overide the stylsheets with a certain plugin (it's not on my linux comp, but I will post it here later when I find out what it is...).  I remember the site being very readable with a nice dark blue theme & white text magnified a bit :).

It takes all of five seconds to fix the text colour. HL is just being an *** about it.
