So, what happened to it? It's impossible to tell now which blog posts have new comments or not.

Sorry folks. We just upgraded to MT 4.1; I should say "upgraded," for the bugs are endless and complex. The big problem right now is the build time, which is excruciatingly slow. A major factor was the widget that displayed comments. It's frustrating for me too because I can't find spam. I hope that all these problems will be resolved this week.

 I'm not sure what lessons to draw from this! One is tempted to say: don't upgrade. But then again, when this works right it will be great.
