Hardly a single anti-socialist position in this Reddit post. I know Reddit skews a little left, but gimme a break.

Don't really know what to say except that it's amazing how perspective changes based upon what side of the table you are sitting. I do agree however that Americans are usually anti socialist for the wrong reasons.

All the statists and Keynesians will look up and shout "Save Us!" and I'll wisper "No."

Reddit and Digg scare the hell out of me.

There are some thoughtful people at Reddit.com/r/libertarian

I think a lot of it is cultural. You know, the pop culture zeitgeist.

But, it's clear that there is a tremendous amount of groupthink, and a shunning of logic/reason.

Often, there are comments that say how much conservatives hate poor people.  But, it's been proven over and over again that the welfare state is detrimental to poor people.  And, conservatives give more to charity.  A logical analysis would bear these facts out.  But, it would go against what's "cool".
