http://www.dailypaul.com/node/85970"The MIAC report specifically describes supporters of presidential candidates Ron Paul, Chuck Baldwin, and Bob Barr as “militia” influenced terrorists and instructs the Missouri police to be on the lookout for supporters displaying bumper stickers and other paraphernalia associated with the Constitutional, Campaign for Liberty, and Libertarian parties."Is this going to become a trend? Does anyone know if all the domestic spy surveillance is being used on folks like us?

I'm sure they probably are.
Everything depends on just how far they take their facism.
So here's a related question: Would you rather be the first to go by way of the firing squad or live in a slave-like existence under a fascist regime? The other option is escape, but to where?
I'd have to imagine they most certainly have. You see, we're just 'right-wing extremist terrorists.' Movies are picking up on this theme already, too. We have been marked. The question then becomes, what shall we do about? And what will they?
Zach_the_Lizard:Movies are picking up on this theme already, too.
Oh we've been marked. Go chat up your local police officer. Stoke his ego a little. You'll see.

400,000 names on the watch list. But only 20,000 from the US. You are not in their sights jet, not by name. But the number is only going to grow...
I work for the USG in a law enforcement capacity. And yes, we have been briefed on "right-wing extremists" and "returning war veterans".
"I cannot prove, but am prepared to affirm, that if you take care of clarity in reasoning, most good causes will take care of themselves, while some bad ones are taken care of as a matter of course." -Anthony de Jasay
Snowflake: What movies? :/
Here's one such example: Deja Vu (2006)
EDIT:
I forgot to say what makes this movie pick up this theme. Well, the bad guy in the movie is a guy who blows up a bunch of soldiers. He wants to overthrow the government, etc. etc. The way he is portrayed makes me think that he is the typical "right-wing extremist" we've been warned about. I bet he clings to guns and religion.
What about movies like V for Vendetta where the freedom fighter is a protagonist?I would say that current movies dont directly address the issue of state vs liberty. They indirectly make the state look cool through military technology being used to fight evil bad guys. See transformers and Iron man.
Snowflake:Is this going to become a trend? Does anyone know if all the domestic spy surveillance is being used on folks like us?
Unless you are a high profile person, I really doubt they have the resources to worry about us. And unless you actually are threatening to attack them, I really would not worry about it. Otherwise, you will just be stressed. They will do what they do.
At most, 5% of the population would need to stop complying to bring down the government.
Marko:You are not in their sights jet, not by name.
Just by association with specific groups.
I am not sure whether official intelligence agencies are too interested in libertarians but I do know that Southern Poverty Law Center has characterised Mises Institute as "Neo-confederate" and keeps some records of people associated with it. I am not whether Anti-defamation league of B'nai B'rith (ADL) has anything about libertarians but the organisation usually doesn't like people who are have anti-liberal positions.
Here is an article about Thomas Dilorenzo in the website of SPLC.

I'm pretty certain they are . i doubt a program like COINTELPRO would just be ended .I'd imagine they keep an eye on us and check we're derided as lunatics .
the big brother state doesn't surprise me anymore.
Who cares? If their lives are so tragic that they are reading this, my advice is to get a real job.
It is not important at first. But first they add you to the list. Then they turn into a banana republic. Then they launch a dirty war. Then one night a death squad shows up on your porch. But that could never happen in the US.
Right?
