This was all said by the same person in a few hours of each other. He made me lose ALOT of faith in mankind if only for the contradictions

-The United States government only uses is funds on defence and police protection

-Taxes are justified because of a central bank and that the government makes our currency.

-Banks have no one to blaim but themselves for the current financial crisis

-If you don't have a bankloan you don't have to pay taxes

-If you don't pay your taxes the government will leave you alone

-Standard oil was a monopoly

-The government ended all monopolies

-There are no monopolies today

-Walmart is a monopoly

-Government pays people social security which is a good thing

-The government should take over the healthcare industry because it can run it better

-Government is consensual

-People pay about 5% in taxes

-FDR fixed the great depression with the new deal

-The great depression was fixed through WWII

-Under clinton there was no national debt

-Clinton, FDR, and Obama are the most popular presidents in American history

-Obama currently has a 70% approval rate (This about a month ago)

-By the government spending now we will all be able to spend in future and otherwise we would have another great depression

-Obama can stop spending and turn around the budget once the crisis is over

-Healthcare will stimulate the economy which justifies the cost

-Government is the only reason while we're not being shot right now

-Why do you keep wanting to bring in guns with the government?

-It's stupid to argue with Obama's economists because they're in the government and obviously know more than you

The above was all said in a single argument over the course of a few hours... There are some arguments the informed cannot win because their opponent is so retarded.... The below was said by the same person at different times

-Bush was responsible for the financial crises (Mmmmm. So government economists aren't infallable gods then)

-Bush is responsible for the current financial crisis

-Without affirmative action black people would be considerably worse off because all the racist employers wouldn't higher them

-If you look at history outside of European history its basically people all living in their little village or city and being happy

-It's impossible for white people not to be racist

-Because you're white I need to remind you that you're ansestors enslaved mine I need to keep reminding you of it

I really wanted to punch this guy. Decensy added

All the statists and Keynesians will look up and shout "Save Us!" and I'll wisper "No."

5) So why are people being shot everyday?
6) It was government that enforced the laws that made it illegal for black and whites to integrate.

  • We can't let private business waste the taxpayer's money (that's the Government's job).
  • By taking over the major banks that have been mismanaged by the private sector (despite massive Government intervention), the Government will recapitalize with taxpayer money to stabilize the current crisis and provide a profit to the taxpayer down the road (not that the taxpayer will ever see a dime).

If I wanted to, I could start screaming now and never stop.

This is why you need to have arguments in front of laptops connected to the internet and require wikipedia as a source on everything.

But oh my god. You have made me realize how fortunate I am that all my friends are at least sort of anti government.

Just terrible. Just, just terrible Huh?

Michael J Green:

People can't be trusted to run their own lives, but politicians and bureaucrats can be trusted to run those lives for them.

And the sister claim: People are inherently stupid and irrational (and/or violent), therefore we need the state. Which is run by people...

Yeah, this one really annoys me as well. Not only is the state run by people, but also stupid, irrational people are smart enough and rational enough to CHOOSE the right people to run the state.
