May I ask what you mean by "liberal"?  Were you one in the sense that you believed that same sex marriage and drugs should be  legal, that the U.S. government should pull out of the war, but that we should have strict regulations and licensing laws?  That is what I believed before discovering the philosophy of libertarianism.
