Hi my name is Hux i am from Australia and new to the community. For the last year and a half my way of thinking has changed completely, from a socialist to what i now consider a Libertarian(not to be confused with the so called socialist libertarian). This has been huge for me and very challenging but it has been a great awakening and i am glad now to be joining the community. Thanks to Ron Paul and the Mises Institute for introducing me to 'Human Action" and Libertarianism. I hope i continue to learn more about Austrian Economics and Libertarianism from the Mises Institute community.
So now to my question just out of curiosity, what does the Mises Institute Shield symbolises?

If you find something evil that wobbles, push it. - Gary North
Welcome! It is really interesting how many left leaning people end up coming around to libertarianism. I was a lefty myself before learning about libertarianism.
At most, 5% of the population would need to stop complying to bring down the government.

It is the coat of arms of Ludwig von Mises. The Mises where jewish merchants, well a very famous rabbi is also from this family, who lived in the city of Lemberg. They where enobled in the late 19th century. The upper right symbol is the staff of mercury - the greek god of the merchants- the lower left symbol the 10 commandments.
And welcome home :-)
In the begining there was nothing, and it exploded.

Who is this "very famous rabbi"? I'm curious.
"As long as there are sovereign nations possessing great power, war is inevitable."
Ok agreed "very" is subjectiv but anyway, Mises Mother is a decendant of Rabbo Meir ben Isaac Eisenstadt also know as MaHaRam A'sh or Panim Meiroth.
